Ei Electronics, Shannon, the largest indigenous company in the region, and the market leader in domestic fire and carbon monoxide detection products, is celebrating 50 years in business this year. To mark this remarkable milestone, the company hosted an open day at its Shannon Free Zone facility on Sunday, 1st September.
Catering facilities for the occasion were supplied and organised by Foodcourt Catering Limerick, one of Limerick’s top catering companies.
A tented village wes erected outside the factory, where a wide range of food was provided for all visitors.
According to managing director, Philip O’Sullivan, their aim was to provide not just good food, but excellent service and quality facilities which reflect EI’s standing as a leading manufacturing facility.
“It is very rewarding to be associated with such a prestigeous campany and I believe our food and presentation reflected the importance that EI has as one of the biggest employers and contributors to the local economy”, he said.
One of the most popular features of Foodcourt Catering’s services has been the company’s ability to accommodate any type of event, large or small, with selections from its all-encompassing menus or to be able to meet special requests and prepare any type of dishes to meet the customer’s special requirements.

While Foodcourt Catering continues to expand their reach making steady in roads into the larger Cork and Dublin markets, the moniker “big enough to cope, small enough to care”, very much applies to them, states Mr. O’Sullivan.
“it is very appropriate with a company like Food Court Catering. It’s this close, hands on approach to managing our resources that has earned us our reputation as the in-house caterer for many of the top businesses like EI in the region”.
