New James Bond Style Casino To Open

The poker table from the set of Casino Royale is just one of the aces the owners of a new Limerick casino have up their sleeves.

And, in a scene straight from James Bond, club members will use fingerprint technology to gain entry to the club due to open early in the New Year.

James Bond won £130m on the very table which will be in the multi-million development located at the corner of Pery and Glentworth Street, opposite the Dominican Church.

It will be called Fitzpatricks Sports Emporium.

A spokesman for the main development company says he has been involved in the Casino business for over 15 years and has built casinos all over the world.

"We chose Limerick as the location for our new casino as everywhere we go in the city new bars, hotels and restaurants are cropping up," said the spokesman. "We see a long future in Limerick." he added.

He said it will be a very prestigious casino, unlike establishments that have arcade games and the like.

Texas Hold-em , Omaha, 3 Card Poker, Black Jack and Roulette will all feature. "It is going to be an exclusive members club.

They will pay a yearly subscription and the latest fingerprint technology will be used to enter the club," he said. He also revealed that 300 lucky people will be given free membership when the club opens in the coming months.

"We want to bring it out of the backs of pubs and have people sitting down in a proper environment and playing poker,we want to offer people an alternative night out and something different. There will be no bar," he added.

The permission granted by Limerick City Council stipulated that no food or alcohol be served without the prior approval of the planning authority.

So it looks like Martinis will be neither shaken nor stirred at the venue. However, there will be complimentary snacks and soft drinks served to members.

This club will rival anything you will find in Dublin and will prove to be a magnificent addition to the current developments going on in Limerick city
