The top hotel has 107 bedrooms, on a site of more than 15
acres on the main Limerick to Dublin road.
Property sources are predicting that the hotel will easily
fetch the asking price. There is also a prospect that some of
the land may be offered for sale separately, opening up prime
development land.
" It is a very fine hotel and will certainly make the asking
price. And if any of the land is being offered for sale in a
separate lot, it will attract huge interest. That is one of
the prime property sites in the city, right beside the university
and so close to the city," the property source said.
The hotel is being sold by a 75 year old Irish-American businessman
and philanthropist, Mr Chuck Feeney.
Mr Feeney has already sold his other Irish concerns, which
included the Kiltiernan Golf and Country Club and Heritage house,
a modern office development with a Georgian entrance on St Stephan's
Green.
Mr Feeney built the hotel in 1991, and it was recently refurbished
to a very high standard
. As well as the 107 bedrooms, the four-star hotel includes
suites and executive rooms, a full compliment of dining, bar
and lounge facilities and conference, meeting and banqueting
facilities which can cater for up to 450 guests.
The sale is being handled by DTZ Sherry Fitzgerald in Dublin
