During his mayoralty, which terminated in June, Cllr Diarmuid Scully began a series of weekly podcasts on issues relating to the city.
Between May and October, the website received over 31,000 hits and almost 3,000 of the recorded messages were downloaded by members of the public.
The councillor has now released a short video message on youtube.
"Limerick is a technologically sophisticated city with a young population and with many people working long hours, more and more of them are relying on the internet as their main source of news. I found with the podcasts that I could communicate with an audience that was not being reached by more traditional media and I hope that this video message will reach even more people,” said Cll Scully.
