HUNDREDS of people gathered at Thomas Street last saturday to welcome radio presenter Mark Whelan out of the window of Brown Thomas.
Mark, who presents the breakfast show on Limerick’s Live 95FM entered the window on Tuesday afternoon as part of a unique charity event.
Thousands of euro was raised during the event for CARI and the Children’s Ark at the Mid Western Regional Hospital in Dooradoyle.
Speaking after he exited the window Mark said everyone who donated money during the event was amazing: “It is quite emotional, Limerick really got behind us for two great causes, it was great.”
Mayor of Limerick, Cllr Maria Byrne, was one of the first people to greet Mark as he emerged from the window of Brown Thomas.
“I think the fact that it was for two local charities that effect people’s lives meant that people were forthcoming with their generosity and great credit must go to Mark Whelan and everyone at Live 95FM,” said Mayor Byrne.
