15 teams from all over Limerick this week participated in the annual Limerick Sports Partnership Boccia Tournament for people with disabilities.
Hosted in Moylish in conjunction with students from LIT’s BA in Business Studies with Sports Management, the event was deemed a huge success by organisers and participants.

Participating teams were drawn from all over Limerick including Rehab Care, Brothers of Charity, Headway, Enable Ireland, HSE Training Centre, Rathfredagh Cheshire Home and Catherine McAuley’s School.
Boccia is a precision ball sport and is contested throughout the world by athletes with more severe physical disabilities. It was originally designed to be played by people with cerebral palsy but now includes athletes with other severe disabilities affecting motor skills.
