William Lane Joynt proclaims the Aims of the Limerick Athenaeum are to create a non-sectarian forum for political and social debate in the city. List of the names of the Council of the Athenaeum and of the original Donors & Founder-Members. The Limerick Literary and Scientific Society had it's inaugural meeting at the Leamy Institute.
