Born Currow, Tralee, Co. Kerry, 1944. Poet, novelist, playwright, short-story writer, accountant. An extensively published, both nationally and abroad, and highly lauded short-story writer, Tommy Frank O'Connor won the Kerry International Summer School Short Story Competition in both 1994 and 1996.
He was the only Irish finalist in the short-story section of the "One Voice International" competition in Swansea in 1995. His short stories can be found in The European, Madame Bull's Tavern (Canada), and Asylum, as well as his recently launched collection, Loose Head.
As a novelist, Tommy Sheehan has published The Poacher's Apprentice (Marino Books, 1997), and his poetry, found in anthologies including Cúm, The Cuirt Collections 1996 & 1997, The Bard of Armagh Humourous Collection, Asylum, Podium, and The Edgeworth Papers, Vol. 2, will be released in the debut collection Attic Warpipes (Bradshaw Books, 2004) in November.
His wok for the stage includes the pageant Breanainn, at Siamsa Tíre, the National Folk Theatre of Ireland and the play Changing Patrick, which premiered at St. John's, Listowel Square in 1997. Leader of the "Tralee Scribblers" writers' group, Tommy Frank O'Connor is involved heavily in the Tralee literary scene.
Tommy latest offering was launched last month PULSE - WRITINGS ON SLIABH LUACHRA - a misxture of poems, stories and essays. He runs his own accountancy practice and currently lives and works in Tralee.
The White House Poetry Revival has being going now for three years. Every Wednesday the famous old world bar is transformed into a centre of culture as poets recite their latest work. Barney Sheehan and Dominic Taylor , the people behind the revival of poetry at the White House, continue to attract the best of Irish and International poetry to Limerick. The White House Poets would like to acknowledge the involvement of the Arts Council, Poetry Ireland, Foras na Gaeilge, Limerick City Council and the White House Bar for their continued support that has helped make the White House one of the pre eminent venues for poetry in Ireland.
As usual the reading is preceded by an open mic session in which anyone who wishes to read is invited to do so. Complementary finger food is provided and proceeding commence at 9.00 pm.

How To get There
The White House pub is located in the centre of Limerick City at 52 O'Connell Street. Its exact location is on the corner of Glentworth Street and O'Connell Street, opposite the Ulster Bank and the Bank of Ireland. It is approximately 5 minutes walk from the train and bus station - exit the station and go down Davis Street, pass Taits Clock continue on down Glentworth Street and the White House is on the right hand corner at end of street.
