The White House Poets in association with the Limerick City Arts Office and the Irish Writers Centre presents a poetry reading by John Liddy.
on Wednesday August 24th at the White House pub, Limerick, at 9.00pm.
Born in 1930, in Boston, Massachusetts, U.S.A. Curt Curtin has worked as a trucker, dock worker, college professor and administrator, director for a community mental health agency, and currently as a volunteer court appointed advocate for children in foster care.
He has published an art edition of his poems, "Pacing the Floor," Little River Press, Westfield.
He has also been published in several journals, incl. Diner, Sahara, Tapestries, Hard Row to Hoe, Vox Poetica, The English Journal.
Satires have appeared in College English's, "Rhetoric Prize" series. He has been a featured reader at Oasis, Poets' Parlor, and National Public Radio's Theme and Variations.
Four poems are forthcoming in War and Peace Anthology, Farmington, New Hampshire. He is active in the Worcester (MA) Poetry Associatio.
He is also the winner of the 2005 Jacob Knight Award for Poetry, part of an award that includes visual and literary artists in Massachusetts.
The open mic session is proving to be an outstanding success, so spread the word if you know a budding poet get them to come along and share their work with an appreciative audience.
